
For my Underdog project we had to choose something that has been forgotten by
society, so I decided to look at overlooked architecture. The idea of the playing card
designs is that overlooked and abandoned architecture is very fragile almost as if it’s
built from a house of cards. The message was to set 3-5 communicational goals like
marketing strategy, format style, tone of voice, graphics, typography and colour. The
idea of this project was to bring families and friends together for a game night and
those buildings would be noticed by the people playing with the deck of cards. Also, it
was important to me to get overlooked architecture to be appreciated as much as
famous ones. The reason why I decided to redesign a new set of standard laying cards
was to not limit the target audience with one game but many different ones.
